We have 3 cats and they are appearing in my dreams. In one dream the largest dark gray cat was talking to me. It wasn't much of a conversation- just establishing that it was the cat talking. Another dream featured all of our cats doing normal cat things and wandering around the house. I don't remember them doing anything special. One cat is white, one gray, and one calico.
Do you think there is any significance to repeatedly dreaming about cats? What could it mean?

It means your cats are sneaking onto your bed at night

Go to dreammoods.com. It's a good mixture of symbolism and psychology. I have referred a few people there and they like it. You can either enter "cats" in the "interpret" box, or just go to the dream dictionary and look under "c". If it tells you something like "I'm sorry but that is not in our whatever..." then just look in the dream dictionary. Sometimes the interpret box is off.

No cats sneaking on to my bed at night. The dog chases them and he sleeps on our bed most nights.
: :

To see a cat in your dream, signifies much misfortune, treachery, and bad luck. However, for the cat lover, cats signifies an independent spirit, feminine sexuality, creativity, and power. If the cat is aggressive, then it suggests that you are having problems with the feminine aspect of yourself. If a cat is biting you, then it symbolizes the devouring female. Perhaps you are taking and taking without giving. You may be expressing some fear or frustration especially when something is not going as planned. If you see a cat with no tail, then it signifies a lost of independence and lack of autonomy.

To dream that you chase the cat away, signifies that you will overcome your obstacles.

To see a white cat in your dream, denotes that you are going through difficult times. If you see a black cat in your dream, then it indicates that you are experiencing some fear in using your psychic abilities and believing in your intuition. You may erroneously associate the black cat with evil, destruction, and bad luck.

I like cats pretty well so it might have something to do with "an independent spirit, feminine sexuality, creativity, and power". Something to ponder.

some of the very best dream interpretation advice i ever received:

you are everything in your dream. you are the _____ (cat, tree, staircase, car, etc.) and the ______ (man, child, creature, food, etc.).

dream dictionaries can be helpful sometimes, when certain things carry common associations in a culture. but most of the time the best interpretation comes from your own personal associations, wishes, fears, etc.

so, if i were to have this dream about my cats, i would start with realizing that, in the dream, i am the cat. what am i, as a cat, trying to say to myself?

it sounds so silly, but if you give yourself some time with it, it makes sense.
