I've only heard of people drinking their own urine to prevent dehydration when they were in situations with no clean water (stuck on the roof after Hurricane Katrina is an example that comes to mind.)
My cousin swears by an old mexican wive's tale that when you have an earache, use a medicine dropper to put some of your own urine in your ear & she says it ALWAYS clears it right up.

I'm not so sure about it, though & I've never tried it.
Very Interesting. Thanks For Sharing. I Have Heard Urine Is Sterile, But I Would Rather Put It In Ones Ear, Rather Than Mouth. I Don't Know Where This Came From, But Real Curious, Never Heard Of Drinking Urine Except Like Out On The Ocean To Keep From Dying. Very Interesting.
there are lots of people who think its great to drink your own pee... EW
My feeling is that if my body has deemed it waste, I see no reason to consume it. Consuming urine from another person or another species seems more sensible, since it could potentially provide missing nutrients or hormones, etc.

I wouldn't care if it worked, personally ICK!....but D-mannose works amazingly on UTIs. Check out your local health food store. IT's in pill or powder form.

It's basically a special 'sugar' that makes your urinary track so 'slippery' that the bacteria can't hold on and get flushed out. So do drink fluids with it and usually it gets better in a day or two.
It actually isn't waste at all. You can do it in many ways, even homeopathically. It can help all kinds of imbalances in the body. Here's a link.

http://home.bluegrass.net/~jclark/urine_therapy.htm

It has been used therapeutically for a LONG time.
Well, given the origin of some of them this is a happy one!

My sister had one that came from rabid dog saliva.
I had one that came from pig hoof.
There are others that are truly nasty...rancid meat ranks pretty high up there. Always good to know where your remedies come from!
