I am up to my ears in hand me downs which is great since I don't have to purchase clothes unless I really want to. However, I'm a bit overwhelmed. The stuff she has outgrown I have in sloppy plastic bags - can't get rid of them until Nov. b/c we don't know what baby #3 is. I want to box them up. How do you separate yours? Do you use just any old box to store them?

Then there are the ones that are too big right now. I guess I should store them, too.

I don't know. I'm pregnant, tired and cannot keep these clothes from being in the way and creating clutter. I'll be sharing a walk-in closet with baby and 1 yr. old dd so organization is imperative. If I don't have room, dh is happy to give me room in his closet. It's just more convenient for me to keep it in mine if it'll fit. Anyone know just what to do?

I got loaded with like 17 boxes of clothes a few years ago when my dd was born :, and I was a little overwhelmed too.

What I did was get rubbermaid bins, and separated the clothes out by age, and labeled each one. I also weeded out the clothes I didn't think they'd wear and donated those so I wouldn't even have them cluttering.

I do the same thing. i make separate tubs for each year, or for every six months up to two. my ds is 4 and right now i have tubs up to 8! i yard sale and collect hand me downs. i keep lists or tallies of how many pairs of pants, etc. i have, but that's another layer of work. i use plastic tubs b/c then i can stack and store them anywhere, but cardbd wd wk if you had a dry, mousefree area.

i'LL ADD ONE MORE SUGGESTION . . .GO THROUGH THE CLOTHES AND DEC . ..oops, caps lock . . .decide if there is anything you can get rid of-- you know-- the clothes that you just never reached for? Like FlyLady says, "you can't organize clutter."
