My daughter has very dry skin. It is itchy, too. It looks like exzema. I have sensitive skin myself. I have been advised to use eucerin or petroleum jelly on her skin. And to slather it on generously. I've only used arbonne baby lotion, eucerin, or other lotions.
I have also been told it appears as though the driest patches are located where her clothes rub her the most (shoulders, outer upper thighs, and worst on her lower back, where her diaper rubs her skin) so it was suggested I switch to dye-free or phosphate-free laundry detergent.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'll take any advice I can get.

I would second the coconut oil recommendation! Virgin coconut oil makes for the most remarkable moisturizer.

You said you used the Arbonne baby lotion -- did you use it in conjunction with the oil? For me personally, I've found that it only works really well when combined with the oil. I applied the oil to my feet (my problem area) after every bath, and then used the lotion a couple of times a day. If I just used the lotion, I didn't see much in the way of results.

I'd absolutely switch laundry detergents. In fact, I'd get rid of the laundry detergent and use something like this. (There are several other products similar to this one; I just happend to have that one bookmarked.) Or use baking soda and tea tree oil as a detergent. Stop using dryer sheets or fabric softeners of any kind. Eliminate as much of the chemical exposure as you possibly can.

Also, check out the Healing the Gut tribe. Skin conditions are often the very first sign of a more complicated and systemic issue.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'd never thought of using virgin coconut oil, in fact, I'd never even heard of it. Where would I be able to get some?

kdmama33: Now that you mention it, I do remember the arbonne baby lotion only worked when I also used the oil. I don't have any of the oil left, though.
I used eucerin on her several times yesterday and there is a dramatic improvement in her skin this morning.
I'd have to buy some more baking soda and I don't have any tea tree oil.
That is a great suggestion for washing her clothes.
I've always used dryer sheets, since we have pets, and I just automatically use them to remove the pet hair. I will try not using them on A's clothes.

Thank you both for your help. Any more people have any other thoughts?

*The problem I have with ordering anything online, is that 1, I won't have internet past September, and 2, I live in Alaska, so s/h is totally outrageous for me.*
