When we told DS that I was pregnant he gave me a huge hug and said, "Thank you mom! I am so proud of you!"
Despite having an overly aggressive sister he was super happy to have another sibling under one condition "I want a brother." We didn't want to know the sex of this baby, we really wanted that to be a surprise. So over the past few months I have been warming him up to the possibility of having another sister, with little success. "If I get another sister I will run to my room, slam the door and stay in there for a VERY VERY long time!" After getting (what we now know as a) false positive on the AFP test we had to have a very detailed ultrasound. During that ultrasound the sex of the baby was found. I about cried thinking how happy DS would be to know he was getting his brother. Later that night, I showed him the ultrasound pics of his new sibling. He loves to look at the ultrasound pics and often asks to see them again. I saved the peebird shot for last and I handed it to him. "What do yo see here?" I asked. "I don't know" he told me. I showed him the legs and the butt and said "what is this between the baby's leg?" He said "Another leg!" I then asked him what he has between his legs and he got all excited "A peebird, thats a peebird, the baby has a peebird!!! Its a brother! Oh, thank you so much mom, I got a brother!" The excitement that he had can not be put into words and was so cute! I just had to share.
What a sweet boy!! Congrats on giving him a brother!
Our kids all wanted a brother (we have 3 girls and 1 boy) so when we got home and told them they just said we knew it and told ya so! LOL! They were already convinced it was a boy!
