I have a newborn boy (3 weeks) and he is sleeping in bed with us in a snugglenest. I love having him right there to nurse and cuddle. We always had Dd in a seperate room - don't know why - but I like this much better. He is a great sleeper (about 3 hours at a time, nurses, then back to sleep). The problem is he is so LOUD in his sleep. He grunts, groans, snorts, and moans all night. Even though he is sleeping well - we still are not getting much sleep becasue his nightime noises are keeping us awake! Does anyone else have a loud sleeper - and did you find anything to quiet them down??

first of all, congrats!!!

secondly, I think his noises should quiet down a bit as he matures a little more. I remember DD used to make soooooo much noise in her sleep, maybe even more than when she was awake :LOL but, as her body matured and she was able to sleep more restful her noises quieted (then I got scared and was awake all night thinking there was something wrong : )

also, you might just be more sensitive to his noises right now b/c he is so new and your instincts are to be the protector, therefore you sleep really light

ds3 was also a loud sleeper at first, moaned and groaned and writhed but is over it now at 11 weeks, i think it went on for 6 weeks or so

i reckon it's digestive stuff gooing on and for ds it helped to have a big burp after nursing and to be held close or well wrapped
