I'm trying to find a way to help DS pee in the toilet wtihout it come out from underneath....or whatever happens to it

He was going in the little bjorn potty but I just had to get it out of the bathroom because it was getting too small. He's great with going in this new "family potty seat" but it seems like if he doesn't push down on his penis the whole time peeing it comes out from somewhere. he doesn't like to push it down the whole time.

So is there some kind of splash guard type this you can get? I mean I don't want to try and coax him in to going stand up because he is really nervous about new things and we finally transitioned to this new big potty. I feel bad for him because he tries so hard!

Is there a trick to this? DH is hardly here and DS would rather I go with him anyway

We have one of those too - it's this one. It does have the splash guard, but DS still has to push his penis down when he sits - he doesn't have to hold it down though.

My DS is pretty tall for his age and has always liked standing up to pee "just like Daddy," but he STILL pees out of the toilet! Sometimes it shoots all the way over the toilet seat to the other side, and sometimes his "man stuff" gets all squished and stuck together and he pees on the floor next to the toilet even though he thinks he's aiming in the right direction. Ah, boys.

Have him bend over when he sits on the potty....it will naturally point that firehose down!! It has worked for us! There is never enjoyment when the pants get wet because the pee leaked out between the seat and toilet!!!

same here. and two little boys that pee standing up (well, plus DH). I swear it's like they try to miss the toilet. I clean the downstairs bathroom floor up several times a day.

He is doing great in my opinion. But if he pees with an erection it is just gonna go where it goes. So find a way he can catch his pee but do not let him push or bend his erection anyway whatsoever, that is very harmful to his penis, I hope you haven't ever tried to bend it down while he is erect. If he is soft it is okay to bend or aim if necessary. Some boys have a short penis and if it is short it may not hang down because it is too short to complete the turn. The boys with a concealed or buried penis have a similar issue. I am not making fun or throwing insult at penis size, it is just a fact of the diversity in all of us.

I just reread your post and this time I caught your mention that he doesn't like holding his penis down. I sorry if this does offend and it may. I am concerned because this may have hurt him before or it may be hurting his penis now. When he has an erection it can hurt or injur his penis if his penis is forced down. He could be or may have been traumatized by this painful manipulation of his erection.
