What are CPF/DSQ made out of? I know it is cotton, but I mean, why do they "pucker" when washed and where do you buy material to make your own. Would they be as absorbant as professional ones?

f I did make my own, would they be as good as DSQ/Chinese PF's?

I am thinking that this is going to be moved to sewing for sure, but I figured diapering mamas know lots more about specifically diapering material.

cpf are made put of layers of cotton twill. The reason they pucker is that they are sewn before they are shrunk. So when they are washed they "pucker" as you say

There is a link on the Fern and Faerie site to a frugal dipe making page, which shows you how to make them out of old t shirts. I don't know about absorbancy, but the Fern & Faerie folks might...

I've looked into it, but it turns out the cost of the fabric would be more than the cost of just buying the diapers pre-made.
