You know how disposables have those blue strips on the leg holes to hold in liquid poop? Are there diaper covers that have those too? I have tried the basic folded cotton diapers and velcro cover with dd but there didn't seem to be a lot of security there.

I never did get serious about cding with her; just occasionally at home. I want to do more cding with greasedroplet, but was just thinking about the runny newborn poops and how they can explode out the diaper and end up all over their bellies!

What a cute name for your little bean... greasedroplet.
I think you may be talking about gussets? Prowraps are a cover that springs to mind when I think of gussets. The poop may get out of the diaper, but most likely will not get out of the cover w/ the leg gussets. Also if you fasten the prefold w/ either a Snappi or pins that will help hold in blowouts.

I use snappied CPFs and various covers: bummis pull un pants, and ME airflows most of the time. I have never, ever had poop on clothes, and now dd poops once every 4 days, so when she does, it is explosive, but still no messes around here!

time to get yourself some Kissaluv size 0 dipes

They're not a cover, but, this dipe does the job with dramatic, copious, liquid bf poo--the fleece insde sops it up like a washcloth, and the awesome elastic legs hold the viscous mess in place.

A ProRap does this job, but it means you will have poo on your ProRap cover, which, in the case of newborns who squirt poo all the livelong day, means you may want a generous stash of covers.
