This was a duplicate post...This was a duplicate post...this was a duplicate post...I've got an Ergo. I love it. 5.5 mo DD doesn't seem to. I was thinking of trying out a Mei Tai. What are the differences between an Ergo and a Mai Tai?

Hello fellow DDC mama!:
- An ERGO is more structured but it is still a soft carrier (obviously you have one so you know what it looks like...)
- A Mei Tai is a soft carrier with straps that you tie yourself

I have tried them both (a freind has an ERGO and we swapped for a week) and I prefer my mei tai since I can tie it wherever I need to; for instance, I wore it all during my pregnancy without a problem. I will say that I found the ERGO more "poppable" in the cold weather since you have to tie the straps on the Kozy. Some people swear by the ERGO though so it really is a matter pr preference. As far as your babe - how long have you been using the ERGO? If it has just been a short while maybe he needs to get used to it - that can take a bit. I suggest a good long walk outside...Also - are you putting him on your back or front? Devin is totally loving being on my back right now and kind of protests when I put her on my front unless she is tired. Oh...one more thing that is good about my Kozy is the ability to do a high back carry where dd can see over my shoulders...I am not sure how high a babe sits on your back with the ERGO since I only used it for a short time. HTH!
