I am a all prefold mama, but I am dying to try some pocket diapers on my baby. They are just SOOO cute and I am wondering if the claim that they keep the baby drier longer is true. Or are they, as some say, "glorified covers"???
IYO, which pocket diapers are the trimest, prettiest and have the best value.

Edit to mention that my baby is chubby (check his pic) and I need something that will give a good fit around his thighs and tummy.

I only have one pocket diaper, a Heavenly Hi ney, and we use it mostly at bedtime. It has a stay dry fleece inner and hemp inserts that go inside that. It's a side snap and fits DS better than any of the side snaps I have. He wakes up dry all the time!

Clara sleeps in pockets stuffed with a hemp prefold, and she sleeps much better in them than in a hemp prefold in a regular cover. So, maybe they feel drier? They seem to to me. I like Happy Heinys the best, but I have mostly Fuzzi Bunz. Actually I prefer HHs in the daytime for their good fit and trimness, and FBs for night because they don't gap when stuffed really thick.

Well, for me it was all about fit. I have both fb and hh. Ds is tall and chunky thighs, so HH fit him so much better, and I just like the prints and all (although the plain colors are more comfortable for my ds-softer material).

The rise on the fb is so short, IMO, and I really like everything about the HH, I wouldn't change a thing. However, if I ever have a small thighed baby or a short one, I might make my own FB (won't buy them anymore), cause they would fit that body type well.

I buy my HH from mamaessentials, as she has free shipping and a package deal when you buy 6. I also make my own stuffings and use prefolds, I do not buy the stuffings at all.

Hope you find one you like!

Here's the web page where I reviewed pocket AIO's several months ago. For your son, I'd suggest trying Happy Heinys first-- the front velcro style offers more room in the legs for chunky thighs as compared to Fuzzi Bunz, plus I think they work better. There are some lesser known pocket diapers that are worth trying that are listed on this page, and you can check out their websites.
