Hi,

I think my 4 mo ds has an ear infection. Last month the ped thought he might have an e.i. (We were there for 2 mo W.B. at 3 month d/t prematurity-We declined the vaxes). He offered abx at that time but I declined. He seems to be very fussy all day now and has a slight fever. I've tried Hyland teething tablet because he seems like he may be teething. Also, I have given him ear oil twice today followed with some massage behind the ear. I think I will call a chiro tomorow.

How long do I try this before resorting to abx, assuming they work? If we do the abx what should I give to avoid the gut flora problems?

Thanks.

I know you didn't ask for it, but here is a whole thread on how to get rid of ear infection without using abx

Perhaps you already have all this info - then just ignore.

Hi Gitti,

Thanks for your reply. I sent you a pm.

Thanks for the link. Yes, I've read that one and a few others I found when doing a search.

My baby seems to go in and out of feeling horrible. We are doing the ear drops and hyland's teething tablets. I'm going to try again tomorrow to get into a chiropractor.

So how long should I do the ear oil tincture after he seems to feel better consistently? If I stop too soon won't it just fester up again?

Anybody know?
Thanks

This info saved us a few years ago. Also went to a pediatric chiro 2x & actually saw the goo come pouring out of his mouth.
