They're made by the same company right?? Is there any difference in taste?

I always buy EB but yesterday say SB at Costco for pretty cheap... 2 2-lb tubs for like $6. But I don't want to buy it and find it's nasty. Has anyone used both? How do they compare?

eta - oops, not the same company. Still, opinions on how they compare?

i know earth balance is vegan and smart balance isn't. we used smart balance for a long time but now we just use butter-less processed.

I have smart balance light with flax oil and it is vegan. I actually like the taste of it. I didn't think I would, but it is good.

We used Smart balance for a long time. I don't care for the taste of the light kind. Now we generally get Earth Balance. I can't say I notice a huge difference. I haven't tried to bake with EB though. Now, I read Nourishing Traditions so my world is turned around and I guess I may just eat some butter.
