My dd Grace is 100% tube fed and has been on Elecare for the past year and a half. We did not have all of her records when she came to us, but the doctors assumed that she had a milk protein allergy because of the Elecare prescription. We've since ruled that out, and are ready to move toward different foods. The nutritionist with whom I'm working, and everyone else I ask, strongly advises against blended feeding of any sort - almost as if there's a liability kind of thing going on. They want me to start Grace on Pediasure, which I really don't want to do. For one thing, it's just so icky in regards to ingredients. For another, it's insanely expensive. I want to try something else, but I'm very concerned about going it alone. Can y'all please share some experiences with me? (BTW, we're in a sort of insurance limbo because of the recent finalization of Grace's adoption, so we kind of have to stick with her current docs for now.)

I found a recipe that one of you posted using Baby's Only. I've read, though, that it uses brown rice sugar as opposed to lactose like Earth's Best, and that lactose is better because it's more similar to breast milk. So, my first question is, how was it decided to use the Baby's Only?

I'd actually prefer to give her blended food, or at least slowly start to add some "real" foods to her diet, but I'm afraid of doing it incorrectly or something.

Advice?
