I thought we could consolidate our two threads into one....that way, we can all talk without having to switch back and forth between threads. Rebekah...it was cool meeting you last Tuesday. Thanks for letting us just hang out and talk Did you and Meghan get to meet up on Friday?? Meghan, Rebekah tells me she loaned you "The Continuum Concept"....how's the reading going? Do you like it?? I wanted to get up to the Yakima Farmer's Market this Sunday if you think you can swing by after church? And I see we have a soon-to-be Eastern Washington mama!

Welcome Dee!!

Meghan......did I understand from the other thread that you're pregnant??? Maybe that just slipped by me, somehow

Talk soon....

Hi Rachelle!!!! I see you're a Spokane mama?! I have a friend from church who lives over there. She recently joined Mothering. I'll have to tell her about you I checked out your website....oh, my heart breaks for your baby Carson.....and I read what Chase said today about his brother, kids are the best, aren't they???

Cool tattoo, btw....I never could make my mind up on a design...so I've never gotten one. I know I would be the type that would get one, get bored with it and need another, and another and another.....

I'm Lisa....we recently moved from Seattle to Tri-Cities (NOT by choice!); I have a 2 1/2 year old little boy (Indiana James, "Indy") and a 9 month old baby girl (Esme Anna-Rose). Since the IT industry up there dried up....DH was laid off and was unable to find work in the computer industry. We sold our house and are staying with my in-laws right now. I am desperately searching for the culture here and lemme tell ya, its slim pickins'. I'm psyched cuz tomorrow night, I get to go to my first LLL meeting here. Ummm, what else.....oh yeah....I make and sell beautiful slings....Waldorf dolls, etc....I'm into herbs and essential oils and what not....

There....that's about it......how bout you?? Are there alot of Spokane mamas?

What church do you go to?

Do you ever come to Spokane?

Thanks for looking at my Kiddos. They are wonderful. Chase is such a loving boy.

I have that problem with tattoos too. I keep getting a new one every year or so.

How'd the LLL meeting go?

Your children have such gorgeous names.

Ummmm, given a choice....this would not be where I would live. How's that for diplomatic??? About 6 weeks ago or so.....my MIL's cat got bitten by a rattlesnake that was at the edge of our backyard, in a bush. Indy was nearby, playing. Then two weeks later.....our dog found one out on the sidewalk in front of the house. He was barking and howling, so we went out to look.....thank goodness he didn't get bit. I'm kinda glad the weather has turned cooler. The snakes seem to be not so prevalent with the cooler temps. Church......I go to a "Church of God" that meets in Grandview right now. Occasionally.....we go to the congregation in Kennewick. There's also one in Spokane. We keep the 7th day Sabbath, but we're not SDA or Jewish. We also do the holy days of the Old Testament, keep the dietary laws & such. Basically, we believe Christ did not do away with the Law (the OT)....but magnified it, ie....expounded on it, made the spiritual importance known. Ya know, like....not only is it not okay to kill someone....it is not okay to hate someone either. The LLL meeting....HA....what a joke. I called the "leader" to confirm the meeting time. She explained to me that the group is on "hiatus" til the end of the year cuz of lack of interest. I guess only one or two moms were showing up each meeting. How pathetic! Ohhh, how I long for Seattle! Thanks for the compliment on the kids' names. We had a tough time naming them.....my DH named Indy....to which I was diabolically opposed to until we were headed to deliver him. Esme, I picked.....I just love that JD Salinger story, To Esme, with Love & Squalor. Do I ever get to Spokane. Nope...never been there yet...HOWEVER....my mom is coming in from the east coast and we are picking her up in Spokane. I wanna get to Huckleberry's while we're there....."Judy" from Huckleberry's saw a sling of my friends and asked where she could get a couple like it (I make some pretty cool slings). My mom is an herbalist and reflexologist, so she's into that stuff too.......maybe we could meet ya there!

Oh goodness, its late...must run......

Hey...where's C-yank and RAF??? Get your hineys over here!!!

Hey is everyone else ready for it to stop being summer already and get cold?? Braden is barely fitting into his summer clothes/onesies, and same with Tyler. I'm so glad it's supposed to start cooling off this week! Hooray! Bring on the snow!

I am definitely ready for winter to come, I left TX as it was too hot and was not expecting this in Spokane!!

Does anyone know any open-minded or ideally holistic pediatricians in Spokane or a holistic practitioner who would treat infants? I am expecting twins in January and not sure who (if anyone) to go to but I may need to at some point.

Thanks

Im so sorry Destinye... I am having a hard time finding any info for you.

There is a naturopath right down the street from me called Windrose. There is also a place on the corner of Monroe & Garland that looks promising. I will see if I can find out what that place is called.

Hi you all! I just saw this thread and thought I'd get in on it too! We just moved here 2 short weeks ago. For the past 6 months my husband has been working in another state. He got 2 weeks off for the birth of Christopher (it was wonderful!) and had to go back. We are finally together here and I couldn't be happier! I am living in Pasco and hope to get to meet some of you at the diaper party.

Do any of you know any ap friendly pediatricians in this area?

About LLL- I'm wondering if nobody was showing because it met in the evenings? I know that that would have made it difficult for me because my 2 1/2 year old goes to bed around 7:30/8 and that's our time with daddy anyways. It's great for working and late night families, but then there are people like me that have a lot going on in the evening. Well, I was really dissapointed about that.

Thanks for looking, I could not find anyone either, but will let you all know if I do. There is an MD who does acupuncture and holistic called Linda Hole MD, maybe I will call and talk to her about treating infants.

But thanks so much for looking, I was hoping someone would have a wonderful pediatrician out there!

Hello eveyone! I just joined and thought I'd introduce myself. I live in Pullman, and am currently in my last semester at WSU. But in January I have to move to Pertersburg, VI for 3 months for Army training.

This is neat to be able to talk to other moms "in my area".

I'm orginally from Moses Lake, so I'm used to the hot, dry, rattlesnake infested weather. But I agree that the cool weather will be nice for a change. Then we'll all want it to be hot again! Never can be satisfied. LOL

Hello! Oh my goodness! This thread started at the end of September, and I just now found it! Oh well. I live in Benton City, about 20 minutes from Kennewick on a goat, duck and geese farm. I am a stay at home mom, and my dh works at the McNary Damn in Oregon. Anyway, we just moved here at the beginning of September from Clarkston (near Pullman) and have been trying to meet folks. I want to start a regular play or work group for AP minded folks. Let me know if any of you are interested. It was good meeting you, Lisa too! I don't know if Meghan has seen this thread either. Anyway, I am looking forward to the diaper party!
