We save all our salmon heads and carcasses to make into broth through the winter.
Very good. Just put the whole thing in a pan and cover with cold water. Add a bit of vinegar and let sit for a couple of hours.
Add any vege odds and ends, along with seasonings, and simmer for 12-24 hours.
Strain through a fine sieve.
Next summer, I intend to cut out the gill plates before we freeze them.
They hold a great deal of silt and sand.

We use our woodstove to do this, to keep the electric bill down./
When we do our spring hunting, we intend to save all the organs this time.
Normally we have just saved the liver and heart.
I think we will skip the kidneys though.
Everyone we have talked to says they taste like pee

It gives you Iodine, which is good support for the thyroid.
Since animal thyroids are more scarce the plentiful, I take 12.5 mg of Ioderal and 2-3 tsp of Maca Root everyday.
Best to support and heal the Adrenals at the same time, else you will get know where with a hypo thyroid

I no longer have cold hands and feet since I started this protical.
