Hi ladies ~

I have been dealing with extreme m/s 24/7 and it has really taken a tole on my eating habits. I DID eat very healthy and now all I can seem to get down is junk. I feel so bad....
I am taking my prenatal... that is if I can keep it down. Most foods make me sick just thinking about them. I am eating a lot of carbs and bad for me foods. I never even bought junk food until recently...
urrrr... I want to sit down and eat a healthy meal like I am so used to....

Anyone else going through this?

Yes, mama! I am right there! Since last August, I have really tried to focus our diet on natural, whole foods. But since my BFP, the ONLY thing that sounds good is white bread, chips, and (bleck!) fast food! This morning, I *had* to have a bacon, egg, and cheese taquito from Whataburger. I haven't eaten pork in MONTHS! ACK! I keep telling myself it will be okay just for the next few weeks.

I am with you there. I am basically eating anything that might sound palatable and hoping it stays down. I am not taking my prenatal because it just makes me so much sicker. It is past noon, I have been up since 8am and haven't been able to keep anything down yet. I have rice cooking and hope that will work. I also haven't been able to drink much water and have been relying on sodas. I really can't wait until the next trimester and hope my sickness goes away then. It didn't with both my last pregnancies.
I was the same way during my pg with dd. I ate chips, fast food, yuck yuck and yuck... I figure if it's all you can stomach you gotta listen to what your body's telling you.

Oh so glad I'm not the only one! :

Although I am craving salads, sometimes a chili cheese dog with tots from Sonic or a potato/egg/cheese taquito from Whataburger are all that sounds good!

I was feeling all down on myself after reading what I should be feeding me and my baby, but I know I will get better when my stomach feels a little better.

My salad was good today, though...romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, boiled egg, avacado, grated cheddar cheese, and light olive oil vinagarette. Yum!

As far as carbs go - I have a good friend who works in the Ayuvedic field and she says that carbs are good for the beginning of pregnancy because they are grounding foods - good for pregnancy. But everything in moderation, right?

Same here and the weird thing is that a lot of the healthy foods I try to eat give me upset stomach, diarrhea and horrible nausea! :
But eating the less than healthy stuff, and carbs do me just fine! UGH!
I've already gained like 5 pounds!!! :

Having suffered through extreme MS last time I will tell you to eat whatever you can eat that will pass your throat. And stay down for longer than a few mins. Hopefully it won't last much longer. Then you can start eating well again. Seriously. My Dr. told me that eating anything is betetr than nothing and losing weight. I lost 7 lbs in the first few weeks. And rememebr to keep well hydrated. If you get dehydrated, you'll get nasty headaches. (i would get them for sometimes 3-4 days at a time)

OH, and take your vitamins at bedtime. It is the iron that will upset your tummy. And this way, you'll sleep through much of it.

I hope you're feeling better soon. Eating what you can is better than not eating, and I second Maple Leaf Mama's warning about staying hydrated.

Would it make you feel better to find some "healthy" convenience foods to subsitute for what you've been eating? Say, if you can eat potato chips, can you seek out an organic brand?

But if you can't, it's really not a problem. You can only eat what your body lets you keep down.

Thank you ladies!! I am so glad that I am not alone on this one! I have been beating myself up for it!! I am really looking forward to getting back on tract and eating healthy again soon!!! I like the organic idea!! Also, I am not eating too much yucky for me stuff... just a lot more processed foods than I have ever eaten.
