Hi everyone,
ABC News Nightline will be airing a segment on EC and DiaperFreeBaby on tonight's show. It can be seen at 11:30pm ET on ABC. The segment will feature the Ulster NY area DiaperFreeBaby Group. Here is the link to the website, though I'm not sure yet if the video will be available online
(they only pick one segment per show):

http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/

I just saw it. I think it was a positive story, but I can see how a it will look like a bunch of crazy ppl to the mainstream crowd. I thought it was odd that the only benefit the mentioned was the hundreds you save in diapers (oh, and they threw in that it helped you be in tune with your baby). I also thought it was odd how they opened the story by saying that "EC is the latest trend in parenting". I felt like the part where they showed the mom and child in the bathroom with the reporter will make ppl think that's all EC'ers do: sit around all day with their child on a potty waiting for them to go.

The online article was great- very balanced and positive. I mean, we're talking prime time network TV here, and by that standard it was fantastic. I'm pleased and have gone to comment on the story online.

yeah, that statement bothered me too. Overall though, it was cool to see EC on TV.

I especially don't like it because they ignore the fact that it is actually one of the OLDEST trends in parenting, right after breastfeeding and swaddling. Eat, sleep, poop... they might have put in one sentence about "did you ever wonder what people did before diapers, or in countries where they don't have diapers?"

Well we know most people don't wonder but that's beside the point.

That's what I was thinking. However, I talked with my mom the next day and she had also seen the story. I asked her what she thought ppl used hundreds of years ago and said she had never really thought about it. She assumed ppl whould have used some version of a cloth diaper.

I agree with the pps, for a national news story it was good, but near as good as it could have been. It's a start, though.
