Where does one actual information about this? I keep hearing that it exists but also thatmany companies are trying to scam on it. So how does one findthe legit places to work on this?
As I understand it you are supposed to first call up your mortgage company and they send you paperwork to see if you qualify for the "Obama Plan".
Then after they determine that you'll get notified if you were accepted or not.
I don't think it does any good to shop around as they are using a formula set by the government- you either qualify or you don't. It's not up to your mortgage lender.
Most mortgage places are more than happy to help you do this. It makes them money.
I never got back to this, but thanks both of you! Funny how you keep hearing about the existance of plans to help, fraudlent companies and little info on what's actually out there.
