Well, I'm not from Edmonton, but we might be moving there in the next few months.

I'm pretty sure there's some Edmonton mama's around here, unless they've all left since they posted in the thread about where everyone is from.
Hi! So which area of Edmonton are you from? How many kids do you have? Do you work away from the home at all? What brought you to the mothering boards?

Lots of questions - hey! I'll answer them all for myself! I'm from central more or less. I have one little boy (Isaiah) who is almost 2 and just recently found out I'm expecting baby #2 next June. I'm so excited about that!!! I work as a legal assistant at the Department of Justice and Isaiah is in a nearby daycare. I haven't read too many issues of the Mothering magazine, it's not available in the bookstore near my work and I don't know exactly where to find it. I love this site even though I'm not "fully" ap. I breastfed Isaiah, used a sling and recently switched to cloth diapers.

Nice to meet you!
I am from the west end area, just around West Edmonton Mall. I have been living in the west end for three years now, it's realy nice, everything is close by.
How many kids do I have is a hard question to answer realy. It is so complicated right now, but I will do my best to explain. I have been pregnant three times. My first ended in an early m/c. My second ended in a still birth at 29 weeks. I named my daughter Angelina Rose. My third pregnancy sadly again ended in a m/c. I am having testing done to see what is wrong. I have custody of my 16 yr old sister and may soon have 3 foster kids!!
So I think the easiest answer I can give is that I have three heaven babies, and four foster kids. Sorry this is so long and complicated, you are probably going to think that I am a nut job or something!!
I was working full time, but have been on sick leave for the past three months. I will be returning to school in February, and probably returning to work soon!! I can hardly wait!
I cannot remember how I found mothering.commune.....the link was in my favorites list!!
Looking forward to getting to know you all!!!
Oh and congratulations on the babe!! How wonderfull for you!!
I don't think you're a nut at all! Nowadays families are often more complicated than a simple answer can explain. My immediate family sounds "normal" but I always have fun explaining my extended family. I have a sister, a very young half sister, two stepbrothers, but one from each side (my stepdad's son and my stepmom's son). It can be so confusing sometimes!!

Hope you found out what's causing all of your losses - I am so sorry for all the pain that must be causing you. Good luck with the foster kids! And as for sisters, my 27 year old sister may be moving in with me for a few months while she goes to school!

Is Sherwood Park close enough? That's where we are. It's so nice to see there are a few momma in this area!!

Another place to get Mothering mag is at Earth's General Store, on Whyte. That's where I was getting it (since I couldn't find it in Sherwood Park) till I started subscribing.

I just had my second ds 15 days ago. The two boys are a handful, but we're still having fun. (As a result I don't get on this board as much as I used to.)

Yeah - more Edmonton moms! Of course Sherwood Park is close enough! I'll have to check out the current mothering issue - I'll try and pick one up today or tomorrow. I'm off work this week so I might have time to get to a Chapters!
