EEK! Our new soaker shorts bled on our SOS!

386 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  ChristinaB
Ds got some adorable soaker shorts today, and they came washed and lanolized. The first time he wore it, it bled bright red all over my fishy SOS.
I washed it right away, and it came out. Now I am afraid to put it back on ds. I don't want to ruin any of my precious diapers. Then I put a second soaker on him, and it bled too.
I mean it doesn't bother me as long as it comes out in the wash. But what happens if it drys on the dipe? What do I do?

It shouldn't stain your diapers. I have bought wool jersey from more than one place and it bleeds, but never stains.

give that soaker a rinse, honey, until the water runs clear. also, you can soak it in some vinegar. I'm assuming the dye is kool aid. These suggestions only apply to kool aid. oxox

Smell the cover, is it sweet? If it's new just email the seller/maker and ask if it was dyed with kool aid. If it was then that's ok.. it may bleed for quite a while but it won't stain a thing!
