Yeah, I know. Sorry 'bout that.

I feel the same way. I'd like to bury my head in the sand, but I just can't. The reason why we got in the mess we're in now is because too many people are too damned ignorant.

Me too. Maybe I feel asleep during an episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

Once they get Jeb (p.s. I refuse to be a resident of a country with a leader named JEB!!!!) in office, which Bush is next in line? Billy Bush or Lauren Bush*?

A Vanity Fair article several years ago described how originally Jeb was the "chosen" one for the big office. I don't remember the details, but somewhere along the line something happened and it became Georgie. Makes one wonder what he's done to redeem himself with The Family

Not sure which is scarier, another Bush or Frist! If McCain runs, I will be declaring as a Republican so I can vote for him in the primary/caucus. He isn't perfect and I used to like him more before he licked Bush's boots, but he is at least a moderate and not trying to reshape the country into some fundamentalist utopia.

Unfortunately, this isn't a surprise at all. A friend of mine who used to be in very close with the Bush family when #1 was President said that everyone in their circle expected that Jeb would be the one to run and were floored when it was W instead.

Well, why should anybody be? And not for any deep nefarious reasons, either ... forgive me, ladies ... sure, it's fun to get all excited about it, but this is a nonstory-story.

Why shouldn't a father want his child to reach the pinnacle of his profession? Jeb is a politician. The pinnacle is the presidency.

Big whoop, IMO.

I'd like my children to be as successful as possible in whatever profession they choose, too.

Though this is one case where I'm definitely rooting against that particular father's dreams for his children ...
