Ok, so I have heard several different stories on elevation your hips after DTD. What do you think? Also I get yeast infections really easy so my doc told me to always go to the bathroom after DTD and clean up really well. How long should I wait after DTD to do this so I don't loose all DH's swimmers? Should I make an except while we are TTC?

10 minutes should be fine. Anything more than 20 is overkill.

As for elevating them... do you know what way your cervix points/uterus tilts? Some womens tilt backward (retroverted, thus the cervix points forward) and many with this issue find better luck performing ... in a bit more creative position (doggy style for lack of a better term) and/or laying on their stomach with their behind raised a little.

No I do not think mine is in any different position than normal. And my doc did tell me that the best position for me when TTC is the one that makes me feel the best. I mean to say should I elevate my hips after we DTD? Do I need to let the swimmer get a head start before I stand up. Ok I sound silly but I just want to get it right quick this time.

dang, girl, i wrote you a nice long answer and my computer deleted it on me!

key points were these- aside from your original question, cuz mae pretty much answered it, i will add that if you are prone to yeast and you are ttc, keep up with your active culture intake! lots of bd'ing makes lots of warm moisture, and fertile cm has a lot of glycogen in it, which is part of how it supports sperm, and yeast just eats that up, literally!

also- i just started using instead cups and i love them. if you put one in after dtd, you could get up and go to the bathroom or anywhere else and not lose a drop- they stay right up where they need to be. plus no soggy undies to encourage those yeasties.

i didn't elevate mine and was just fine (did lay there for 10 minutes after enjoying our post-coital snuggle)... I never felt a drop drip out the three days we DTD leading up to O. Even after I got up to pee.

Im not alone in having had that experience either, I saw a thread... probably about a year ago... about how one of the signs that women knew they got their timing right was that it didn't leak...

(that said, with my daughter it leaked and ewww I hated his semen anyway as it burned me... so I got up immediately after to bathe... yet still ended up pregnant! But that was my ex... and I have no issue with DFs semen burning thank goodness.)

I'm in your same boat- prone to yeast infections, but really wanting to give DH's little men ample opportunity. I compromised. I insert the Instead cup right away, lay for 20 minutes with hips on a pillow, and then get up to pee. No infections so far, and that's how we conceived DS. Good luck!

okay, mae (or anyone else who might know)- my uterus is retroverted. I know about the "doggy style" position thing and I try, but my problem is if we DTD and I'm on my back, when I turn over, I totally spill everything! I've taken to simply staying in whatever position we DTD in for 15 mins or so, assuming that's better than the flip&spill
advice?

I tried the whole pillow under the hips and it never worked. But the month I got preggo I layed off the bed for 5 mins. Head and torso on the floor and legs still on the bed. My hips and pelvis were tilited much better then using a pillow.

But I would do it too long, it could defeat the purpose....
