Have you seen the show "How Clean is Your House"? I want to make some gloves like the hosts' fancy gloves! Finding the trim is easy, but how would I attach it? I'm not sure what kind of glue would stick to the rubber, or if sewing the trim would be the way to go. any ideas?

These gloves sell for $18! There's no way I can bring myself to pay that.

Oh oh, I love that show, and those gloves, and I have given alot of thought to making them (probably too much, really) and I have decided that HOT GLUE would be the way to go for attatching trim. Yep, it would attach cloth to rubber and not compromise the water proofness of the rubber, so I think that is definately the way to go.
I haven't actually done it yet, because I am working on figuring out how you would keep the fluffy stuff dry and if not dry then at least sanitary, since you would be using them to keep nasties off your hands. Any ideas there?

Welcome to MDC pagan_mummy!

thanks for your response!

You don't think hot glue would burn through the rubber? hmm... time to break out the glue gun and try it on an old pair. I was thinking that aleen's tacky glue might work too, but as far as I know it isn't water proof

I only use my gloves to wash dishes with, and don't usually get the tops wet so I think that would be ok and not harbor any bad bacteria or get gunky. for cleaning really yucky stuff I use disposable nitrile gloves.
