Ok, I've posted here a few times in the last few days about how our family is sick and fortunately everyone seems to be on the mend.

I have a two-pronged question for myself though:

1. My head feels like it is going to explode. My nose is actually quite good (unusual for me) but my head feels like it is stuffed with cotton or something. My ears feel like there are miniature people in there pushing out on them. I can't hear well and feel like I really need my ears to pop. I also have a mild headache.
I have had very very little sleep in the last week and I am stuck at home with my two small children. My two year old is feeling much better and is crazy today and can't understand why mama doesn't want to do much.

So my question is: does anyone know if Advil Cold and Sinus is safe for breastfeeding? The ingredients are Ibuprofen 200mg and Pseudoephedrine HCl 30mg. I wouldn't normally consider it but I am really desperate here and this is all I have in the house other than regular Advil and Tylenol. Alternatively, if there is something from the Health food store that works fast, I could hold out until DH gets home.

2. What should I have on hand for the next time this happens so I can treat it naturally?

Ok, I just Googled and it said pseudoephedrine can reduce milk supply. That sucks. I don't have awesome supply to begin with so any reduction would be bad.

Ok, I guess I'll stick with natural remedies.

Check Kellymom.com--they have some good medication resources.

Also, this is gross, but it helps me. Make a warm, mild salt-water solution, like the kind you might gargle with. Then drink it through your nose, spitting the water out your mouth. Have a towel with you--it's messy. But it really flushes out the sinuses!

Hope you feel better--I think I'm sick with the same type of thing. Blah!

Do you mean like with a Neti pot? I've seen them in the HFS but never used one.

Kellymom was where I found the info . I should have Googled before posting my whine but I just can't think straight today.

I have to say, this has given me some insight into my son's behaviour. I would imagine he feels like this a good portion of the time. Poor little guy.

I've never used a Neti pot. I just use a big mug or glass.
