My dd has in the last month or so become sooo emtionally volatile. Every morning first thing, she throws a hysterical fit about one thing or another. It doesn't matter what I do to prevent it, she will find something to get upset about. This goes on throughout the day. She will lose a toy, not want to go outside, not want such and such for lunch, etc. I have seen so many posts about this with two year olds and tantrums. But she never threw tantrums up till now. I guess this is just the course of her developement...but it is making me so angry. I don't know how to deal with this behavior. Seems if I am empathic with her, it eggs her on and we could go 30-45 minutes of friekout. I don't have the time or energy to sit there empathically all day long listening to her scream and whine. I have been telling her if she doesn't stop she will have to go to her room. I would like to try something else. Any suggestions?
Another reason I am really frustrated with the behavior is that a neighbor recently complained about the noise from our apartment, and I am stressed about getting more complaints. I know we can't get evicted for having a screeching child, but it still stresses me out.
