I am concerned that my son's teeth will develop cavitites because he HATES to have his teeth brushed.

: Does anyone have any advice to make this chore a more agreeable one for him? I think that because he did not eat solids much until around 13 months, he did not get 'used to' the toothbrushing and so now resists it at 18 months. I just do not know. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what all you have tried but my son loves his electric Spongbob toothbrush. He is getting his "I" teeth and the vibrations feel so good he brushes (kinda ) for a long time. Before his current teething session he just loved the toothbrush itself so he never fought us. (yet) Before he even had teeth we used the rubber finger brush so he has always had us brushing his teeth/gums. So maybe just that cool toothbrush that you let him pickout.
