I *really* like this dr! First we saw a resident, who seemed awkward and very young, but was nice. Then the dr came in. Connor was sitting on the floor reading a Star Wars book. The dr walked in and said "Ooh, I love Star Wars!" Then picked up Connor and the book, and sat on the exam table and read the whole book to Connor!! It was such a nice change from the drs who always seem so rushed, you know?

Anyway, he had already reviewed all of Connor's labs and his height/weight charts. He said that since Connor's *rate* of growth has been normal, even though he's been consistently below the growth charts, plus since his labs have been normal (thyroid and parathyroid) then he suspects that this isn't a growth hormone deficiency. He did a bone age scan yesterday. If it is normal, and as long as his other labs stay normal and his rate of growth stays normal, then he just wants to monitor him for a few years. He said it looks like we're just dealing with the low weight and small stature common to 22q, not any type of deficiency (hormone or nutritional).

So, that's good!

I am so happy for you. I am also glad you found such a great doc, I love it when they actually spend time with my kids. I know not having to do growth hormone is a huge relief for you. Yippee!!!
