And lets KEEP talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (in response to how much we talk, the other thread was 9 pages long, he he!)

It's keeping me going!

No baby here, man this SUCKS, now 40 +4 and no end in sight.
The baby doesn't move as much, I am sure because theres NO FREAKING ROOM, and that can worry me but just as I worry I get a small kick (they used to be HUGE PAINFUL kicks) to let me know he's still hanging around (like I can't tell already, gee whiz kid, come on out).

The full moon is in 2 days?? I hATE to wait 2 more days but I have no other choice anyway, that would be cool for a bunch of us to go on a full moon. I use to see that when I worked in labor and delivery, a TON of women coming in when it was a full moon, can't explain it, we just knew to be ready!

FULL MOON - so, could the full moon send us into labor? and, since i'm not full term...would that mean i would have to wait another month for the next one!?

CLOTH PADS - i used glad rags and love them. i also bought some disposable natracare pads for post-partum too, just in case we can't get all my glad rags washed fast enough. we use cloth dipes too (or did before dd starting using the potty), but also bought a few disposable 7th generation for use at the hospital (i really don't want to use the gel dipes...even if they are free).

BELLY LAUGHS - ina may talks about belly laughs openning the cervix...so we rented some awful movies this weekend. we watched 'austin powers goldmember' last night and i laughed so hard ('cept at fat bastard...he's just too gross to be funny). we also watched 'ladies man' with tim meadows...which was also pretty funny. i want to reserve 'a mighty wind' when it comes out, if we haven't had the baby already. i love 'waiting for guffman' and 'best in show'. i should really rent them from the library.

LOL dad mentioned the full moon last night to me...lol That would put me one day over due. I am 39 wks 6 days today. D-day tomorrow...maybe this baby is just waiting for its due date..lol

Mom said to me last night...you don't have to have this baby on the 11th...no kidding as if i have any choice in the matter....duh...hehe

Oh the people at church yesterday were annoying...oh the questions people ask...one gal said " oh u haven't had the baby yet?"...duh that is pretty obvious..dad looked at her and said..actually she had it two days ago...that was what I was thinking but wouldn't have ever said it...she then said..well i am looking forward to seeing and holding your new baby...I think she felt bad...

I was feeling lots of pressure last night but baby still hasn't dropped....I dont' think I have dialated any more either. I think I am still at 3...if I measured right. For some reason I can actually feel my cervix now...

Am eagerly awaiting new baby announcments..hehe...

Week 38 for me-checking in to subscribe to the thread!

It's been very active around our house with visitors and calls from well-wishers--all very nice but I'm starting to feel the need for more seclusion, which I will actively start to create for myself.

Am also defying the minor tribulations my 38 week pregnant body is presenting and am enjoying life to the fullest with lots of activities, most of them centered around dd's enjoyment. My spirit is soaring from them! To see the look of joy on her face when we do something fun just for her is wonderful and a huge tonic for me.

My mother is scheduled to come on the 17th-but as we expected with her traveling during hurricane season, Hurricane Isabel may present complications. Am sending lots of positive energy to the universe to prevent it hitting where my parents live!

Haven't been putting away meals-for some reason that didn't work for us the last time. And I'm not in the mood to stay indoors on my feet. Fortunately we have some healthy, reasonably-priced take-away alternatives!

Hi, just checking in... got the new thread... I think you got it all mamarsupial! Hopefully Arikasmama (Laurie) is having or had her babe!!

I'm ready today too... I wonder what will happen at my OB's today, since i'm going to opt for the internal if they insist... I won't let them break my water unless i'm over 6cms... and still don't know if i will... I doubt i am, i bet i'm 2, if that!!! If it is completely closed still, i don't know what i'm going to do!!!

I go at 2:45 EDT, so i'll check in after that and let you all know what happended. Think of me!!

Hi everyone
I havent' read everyone's posts, because we have just returened from hospital!!!!

I had a beautiful healthy baby girl (Aislinn Laura) Friday night at 9:00 pm. It was an incredibly fast intense labour - I made it to the hospital just 40 minutes before I delivered her and my dh arrived at 8:55 pm!! I will write more later ... I hope everyone is doing well and that many more babies were born this weekend!

congrats emma!!!!!

So I was suppose to get together with my friend who is due 3 days after me this morning-- BUT, turns out her water broke on Saturday so she is at the hospital as I type getting ready to deliver her baby! I am soooooo jealous! Made DH go on a 45 minute walk with me today, am going to double the EPO, make a HUGE pitcher of Red Raspberry Leaf tea and chain DH to the bed...... (hee-hee)

Actually today is our 2nd wedding anniversary, so we both took the day off from work and we're going to go play putt-putt, get lunch and go to Bruster's for ice cream (best ice cream in Richmond!).

I know I shouldn't be so impatient because our EDD is 14 days away from today, and being impatient wont help the baby arrive any earlier. I am all about the full moon thing though! Let's give it a whirl!

Oh-- I forget who was asking about banana bread, but zucchini bread freezes super-well too. I made like 6 loaves of it yesterday. I also made enough food to probably get us through the rest of the month, so again-- DD can arrive any time now.

Maybe that's our problem- maybe we're too prepared. I should go unpack something or get something dirty. Maybe that would help.

I'm not desperate enough for castor oil yet though-- that kinda intimidates me.

Anyway-- congrats to all the new mummies, happy birthing vibes to all the mummies currently "rushing" and here's to our babies!

More later,
if that's the case, i should have had this baby weeks ago! hee hee. our house is a mess! we are SO not ready. i have some stuff packed, and my essential oil blends done, but our new bedframe isn't here, we don't have enough cloth diapers, all the bedrooms are still disorganized from when we rearranged.

Good morning everyone! Congratulations to Emma on the new baby...it's so exciting to think that soon we'll all be holding our little ones!

I remember with my first child we had a sparkling clean apt. for weeks before her birth, all her clothes nicely folded and refolded, etc. Now with my second I"m finding it harder to become this prepared - partially because it's hard to convince a toddler that everything should stay put for weeks on end, and secondly because we've bought a house and are constantly renovating! We did finally buy all our homebirth supplies, and my hubby has finished building our front stairs, so that seems "ready enough" for me!!!!!

I can't believe the full moon is coming up so soon - this pregnancy seems so tied to the full moon, I'll be curious to see if I do go into labour soon! I had soaked all my fertility herbs in the full moon when we decided to get pregnant, then one night in Dec. I was kept awake with all this incredible energy buzzing through my body and swear that's the night we actually conceived....and when I got up in the morning, it had been a full moon that night! And then last month I had all sorts of cramping, discharge and activity to the point that I wondered if I would go into early labour, and when I went to my next midwife appointment, she said "oh ya, that was right around the full moon - we were kept really busy for a couple of days there!!!" It's so neat to see that we're still so tied to the natural world like this, even when living in the heart of a city!!!!

It is great to see all the birth announcements and ancipation in the group! My EDD is still 3 weeks away, but that also means that it could be anytime. DD was born 2.5 weeks before due date.
In some sense I won't mind waiting for the full 3 more weeks, although I have a feeling that it would come before. Beginning of sept is always busy at the university, and coincidently a large number of jobs which I am applying for have a closing date of OCt 15. This means I better kick my bottom and get all those applications out before baby

If this full moon thing will work, then this full moon will be "the" full moon--the sept moon is always the largest. We were out last night pre-celebrating the moon festival; DD enjoyed the candles and the lanterns.

I don't need my intestines stimulated any more at this point. I've been dealing with that this morning and then I just went to climb up the stairs and felt like I could barely walk. I end up leaning forward and walking toe first. I'm feeling a lot of intestinal pressure right now. Yesterday I went out to a birthday party in the country and felt fine--was actually running around at one point. Now today I seem to have a ton of gas. It seems to alternate day to day.

My doula with my first massaged a pressure point in my shin/ankle area that I noticed stimulated contractions as well. I think that it was called spleen 6 or something like that.

OK, these thread titles are getting more and more involved. I'm not sure what the 9.8 means. Oh wait, duh, that is the date. LOL, yeah, I am really with it!

I am feeling weary today, and have been off an on for the past month. I don't know if I'm just tired or what, but I just want to go far away somewhere and be alone. I'm not ready to give birth yet, I just feel like I want some peaceful time alone to not think of anything or deal with anything. Definitely no nesting going on in this house!

26 gruelling hours later, 13 cups raspberry tea, 5 blankets ruined and 7 hrs transitional labour, we welcomed our brand new baby born into the world.

He was born unassisted into his mothers hands with daddy and big brother looking over my shoulders.
