So, I'm in LOVE with my Ergo! It's just AWESOME. My 20# 9 month old is comfortable in there, and I love carrying him in there! So, I have some extra Paypal, and I don't want to blow it on dipes. I thought maybe an Ergo accessory would be appropriate.

Is the Ergo backpack very functional? How does it attach to the Ergo. If you have your kiddo on your back, how do you access the backpack without taking the Ergo off? If you have your kiddo on your front, isn't the backpack in your way?

I'm thinking of getting the "front pouch" instead. But I do NOT want to look like I'm wearing a "fanny pack" if you KWIM. Any thoughts on that?

Really, I'm just looking for somewhere to put my keys, wallet, cell phone, and pacifier. The pocket on the Ergo is perfect when I wear ds in the front, but most of the time he's on my back so that doesn't help at all. And I can't ask a stranger "Hey, could you get my wallet out of that pocket back there please?"

Any thoughts? (Please don't suggest both! I don't have that much Paypal, and I really am hoping to have 100% confidence in whichever one I buy!)

I don't have the backpack, but do have the "front pouch" and use it quite a bit. It's great for going shopping, because I can fit my wallet, keys, etc into it. And, when we're at the playground, pool, etc, I can fit some snacks in there for my other two kids. It's easy to get on and off (just some velcro), so I can easily grab it and go without the Ergo if needed. I'd definitely recommend it.

The front pouch is the only purse I now use. It contains my cellphone, credit cards, cash, keys, glasses, and a few odds and ends. I love it. If I don't have the ergo on, I fit it to my belt. I never carry any bag anymore, and travel far lighter than I ever did (apart from my toddler on my back, of course!)

I really recommend it - but the newer model, not the old one that didnt have separate compartments.

Thank you for your replies! I just bought the front pouch and I think I'm really going to like it!

Does it only velcro onto the waistband? Or does it click onto other places on the Ergo?
