...full of good news and bad news.

Good news: Baby is great, head still down, heart still ticking on just right. And got the cervix checked out, and it's "down low, soft, and 1 and a half centimeters dilated" *falls off chair*. I said "Are you sure?" I was so ready to hear that it couldn't even be reached and was still locked up tight. I know that it really doesn't mean anything, but I guess it's nice to know that my body is doing SOMETHING... even though the head is still not engaged, I'm carrying her ridiculously high... come on, baby, drop, drop, drop...

Bad news: Blood pressure is up again, and more protein in the urine
: It's been over two weeks now that we've been playing with this is-it-or-isn't-it game with pre-eclampsia. It's not so high this time to send me back to L&D for more monitoring, but he wants me to come in again on Friday, and in the meantime I got some more blood drawn (this is really turning me into a pincushion) and have to do ANOTHER 24-hour urine. Once again, "take it easy, call if you get any headache/blurry vision/ etc / etc" *sigh*

My one real measure of comfort, is that if I DO end up pre-eclamptic and have to be induced, at least I'm soft and starting to dilate, so I have a better chance of having a successful induction.

But let's cross our fingers that it doesn't come to that...

Great news about the baby. Sorry to hear about the continued threatened pre-e.

Similar boat, but jealous of your heads down babe!
That's a great start in the right direction, at least!

Crossing my fingers for you. Here are some suggestions: Get some magnesium sulfate (Epsom salts) and add them to your bath and eating parsley is supposed to help lower your blood pressure. I noticed drinking lots of water helped and eating well all day and keeping mellow helped. Good luck mama.

Small update from appointment this morning...

Blood pressure still up

But labwork looks good and not like pre-e

Got sent back over to L&D to monitor the bp laying down for a few hours this morning, and as soon as I laid down, the bp went right down to perfect. So, OB said I'm on "modified bed rest" (I get to move around a little, but have to lay down a lot), but the way things are going I should be fine and shouldn't need to be induced if it doesn't get drastically worse. So YAY for that!

ETA: Oh, and the time at L&D this morning was actually awesome because I met the coolest nurse. She was looking over the pre-registration questions that I'd answered last time, and saw that I wasn't planning an epidural, and asked me a couple questions (if I was planning lamaze, did I have a birth plan) and said that she hoped she was on duty when I came in, that she LOVES the unmedicated births, and we talked for a while about the birth and she was completely awesome. That's the one great thing about this hospital, the nurses all seem really cool and I don't think I'm going to have to fight them too much to have a good birth there.

For the blood pressure, try 15 minutes of just lying or sitting and really deep breathing (inhale through nose, exhale through mouth) every day. On the day of your next appointment, do it before you go into your appointment.
