So I had a VERY busy day yesterday and surprise surprise I spotted a little today. So even though I KNEW everything was okay my husband insisted on taking me to the hospitial. Well of course its a holiday weekend so I got the rookie dr. So he wants to do a urine test, blood work, pelvic exam, and ultrasound. Ok none of that is fun but its all routine I guess. Nope. He needs a "fresh catch" so I have to be freaking catherizied. I've had two kids before this and spotting repeatedly with my second and NEVER had to be catherized to get a "fresh catch". Then my blood work is 6 vials AND an I.V. line. Then he did what I can only assume was his first ever pelvic exam because I've had quite a few of those before but none quite that painful. This was followed up by my VAGINAL ultrasound. Then the S.O.B. wants to give me a shot of rogahm. I had my rogahm thank you very much after the last baby. I'm covered. So anyway spotting probably because I did too much. Baby is doing great and right on track. Got to see the heart beat.

WOW! That is crazy... I am glad that the baby is good and healthy though.

Isn't it amazing what we subject our bodies to for our children.

Wow. I would NOT have put up with that. Completely unnecessary for spotting, and I would be filing a complaint ASAP. I'm sorry you went through that.

Aw, what a rough time. FYI- You can always refuse any testing and even ask for another doc if you get someone you are not comfortable with.

If it makes you feel better- I can assure you that it wasn't his first pelvic. They have to do several in med school, and many more in their residency.

Sounds like you had it rough! Maybe DH will think twice before insisting on the ER for spotting from now on! I'm glad everything is ok though, that's the most important thing.

Ouch! That sounds like an awful ER visit. I'm glad everything turned out alright, though (and at least now you know to run if you see that doctor coming!)

Wow! That almost sounds like it could be a parody of over-interventative yet essentially useless American hospital care

too bad it wasn't, sorry you had to put up with all that! Wonderful that you got confirmation that everything is fine though (even though you already knew

Oh I am very well aware that I can refuse any testing. One problem is EVERYTHING kept knocking me off guard. And FYI this Dr. could not have been over 27 so I am still not sure how many of those pelvics he had ever done!!

Maybe if it was a teaching hospital, he was a med student? They are required to let you know that you will be seen by a student though. Or, maybe he was a first year resident? Either way, sorry you got the rookie
