I am seriously considering using Reglan. My milk is almost nil and my son it getting very frusterated. He doesn't nurse often but when he does he wants to fill his tummy. Have any of you mamas ever used Reglan (generic: metoclopramide) 10mg to increase your milk supply? did it change the taste/baby doesnt' like it? Any other side affects??

Thanks!

How old is your ds? Have you tried herbal alternatives yet? When I want to increase my supply I drink Mother's Milk tea- it has all of the herbs that help stimulate milk production. I also make sure I'm eating and drinking plenty and I'll even throw in a beer.
You can also get some Brewer's Yeast. I was fine taking it in some water but some people are really grossed out by it and do better with capsules.

I have a friend who did Reglan. It helped a little bit. I don't know much about it though.

thanks for the links. DS is not starving (that's not why i want to up my supply). He is 15 months old and has just started sleeping thru the night. He doesn't hold still long enough to nursing enough to encourage a good letdown during the daytime. so i am worried that my supply could use a little help. it's nothing super urgent. i just want to have it when he wants it.

Oh good. For your situation I'd definately try the above. Would you post again and give an update on how much more milk you're making?

MamaNatural-Several weeks ago I posted about how Edward was loosing interest in nursing. I was heart broken. He's only 14 months old and I am not ready to be done nursing. He was just too busy exploring life to sit still to nurse. And he recently started sleeping thru the night. So my supply was on the floor.

Well good news. My supply has rebounded. He has come back around and he is nursing more frequently and spends more time nursing. These past few days have been great. We have really been enjoying each other. Yesterday he woke up early from his long nap and when I went to pick him up he wanted to nurse. He ended up nursing/sleeping for over an hour. He woke up with the biggest smile on his face.

Anyways...thanks so much for your encouragement. I am so glad I didn't give up!!
