Hello! I'm relatively new to CD'ing and so far have only tried FB's. We are happy with them so far, but it seems like there are so many other options out there. I'm willing to expand my diaper stash. With FB we put one insert and one prefold in during the day and at night -- 2 inserts and 1 prefold. DD is a VERY heavy wetter. Once I figured out what works to stuff in them, we haven't had any leaks.
We are planning on having a second child soon (assuming I can get pregnant - no PP AF yet) ....so I was thinking of what would be a good newborn CD. The diaper reviews in the archives are a bit overwhelming to a newcomer who has no idea what she is doing. I kind of picked up on the fact people like kissaluvs...what about covers? any thoughts on expanding from fuzzi bunz for a very chunky 8 month old heavy wetter.....or what would work well for a newborn (assuming i ever get pregnant). I was looking online and found such a range of prices on covers that I got more confused the longer I looked........
By the way, my DH thinks i'm obsessed, and I think he might be right, because after I spent an hour or so trying to figure out the other options...i dreamed about CD's all night

Welcome to obsession! You are among friends.

Congrats on finding a system that works for you! When my daughter was born, we used preemie prefolds in a Prorap cover or a Bummi Super Industrial Whisper Wrap. Now that I've discovered wool covers, I don't use PUL much anymore. I still have a few Bummis on hand, though. I also like Bumpy covers. And we love our Aristocrat soaker for nights.

All my favorite WAHM-made items are hard to get, unfortunately.

Since you aren't pregnant yet, I'd recommend just reading here for a while. You're sure to find 100 different diapers and covers to drool over...

Welcome to the world of the diaper hyenas!

I use snappied or pinned infant prefolds and nylon or fleece pull-on covers for the early days. Since the newborn poop inevitably gets on the cover I can afford to have lots and lots of covers at about $2.50 apiece for the nylon. I like the fleece because it is soft and breathable.

Many many mamas go with the Kissaluvs and lots of others like the Prorap cover with a prefold.

Happy diapering!
