Interesting. It wouldn't surprise me a bit. I still need to read through that article a little better. But did you see the video about the Pentagon strike? It's in the same category for me.

There are some great sites with file footage and such on this. One is a (9/11 interview (on news) with firefighters decribing the "bombs" they saw IN THE WTC. I am not at home, where I have the links. DARNIT! There are 2 documentaries too...I will try and remember...

I think it was on the 9/11 video here, but I saw that the day before the WTC attacks, all bomb sniffing dogs were taken out of the WTC for some reason. Coincidence? I think not, sadly enough. It would make sense. I believe that while our government did not orchestrate 9/11, I believe that they knew about the plot, and did nothing to stop it. I believe that some may have actually been involved, but that as a whole they were not. I also think that the Bush administration knew that if they allowed something like 9/11 to happen, it would put a terrible fear in the hearts of Americans, and would allow the government to make whatever rules necessary to prevent such attacks. This is the easiest way to make a democracy into a tyrannical dictatorship. You create a fear, a fear so great that people are willing to do anything to run away from it, and you promise that in exchange for these freedoms that you give up, we can keep you safe. So you give more, and more and more, and find that more and more is being asked of you. Still, even more, they say, because we are not yet safe. Conservative America sees this as a way to push their ideals and values into every home. And who is their leader? Why Mr. Bush of course. I do not believe that my thinking is the result of a far-fetched conspiracy theory. It makes sense, and it seems to complete the puzzle that we all know exists. Truly terrifying and scary. I hope someone has the guts, some time in the future, to expose the truth.

I don't. I recall our country being in a state of shock and chaos. The Admin has faults... but I don't think they would knowingly allow something so horrific to happen in our country.

The WTC towers weren't designed to withstand direct hits from large aircraft with full fuel tanks. When metal beams are exposed to high temperatures, they lengthen. When they're part of the structural integrity of a building, the building falls down.
If any firefighters really thought there were bombs in the buildings, I'm pretty sure it would've gotten out. We're a right-leaning bunch, but not the sort to keep our mouths shut.

I don't think the American govt. had anything to do with it. I know America has many flaws and so does our govt., but I will never buy into the idea that our govt. was involved or knew about it. Never. I still remember the day even though it was 5 yrs ago. From what I've watched about the Taliban that went back even into the 80s, they wanted to hurt us even then! They always have. And they always will.

Even though I'm from the South and only saw it on Tv, this is still one thing that hurts so badly for me even 5 yrs later. I'm out of the thread.

I watched one of the videos and have another one on loan. I'll post reviews of them. I would recommend watching them! They really make you think, if nothing else (it is interesting on so many levels: trying to wrap your brain around the details and the motives).

And then it is so interesting that the politically and socially progressives and radicals that I know take this as a given now!!! Wow.

ITA- In more general terms of feeling the Official version of events is false, I think part of it is that I just have trouble believing anything that comes from this administration.
Just as a regular citizen having attended lectures (in 2000, and 2001) by two former members of the UN weapons inspection teams to Iraq saying there were no WMDs there, I knew pretty confident Bush was lying about that. And, hmm, how did that turn out. Same thing with all the civil rights abuses predicted with the passage of the patriot act (yes, I know that and invading Iraq took votes from both parties), and prisoner abuse scandals (Iraq and Gitmo),
All these things that seemed- to varying degrees- unthinkable, and then come to be substantiated. Other things like changes at the EPA (POS Blue Skies Act) , No-Child-Left-Behind, which while not scandals exactly are examples of the administration putting a shiny wrapper on a pile of dung, which to me is just more lying. It seems like you just need to imagine the worst thing these powers-that-be could do, and within a few months you'll be reading it in the paper.
