I did some heavy lifting yesterday.. bench press and squats (but the squats were somewhat assisted not free squats). I have been getting my 30 min of exercise in most days as well. I can't wait till the weather gets nicer and I can really work on walking long distances!

I need to add in my prenatal pilates video. I was at a friend's house this morning and couldn't resist the scales in her bathroom. I knew better, but climbed on anyway. 197.4 Ouch.

I'm so tired, I haven't been doing anything It's honestly all I can do to get through the day with the kids all fed and stuff, and when they're with their dad, I just want to veg. I'm sure I'm gonna end up regretting it, but I just can't seem to find the motivation or energy to exercise at all.

Instead of seeing it as a separate activity, you may consider trying to incorporate little ways of moving differently.
I took I *big* break this week. I think I went 5 days without yoga due to one thing or another. I was shocked that my pigeon pose today actually looked better than it has been so maybe my body needed it. That said, I'm missing out on my goddess squats and need to do more of those all the time. I don't stand in lines much, but I may start just doing low squats if I find myself in line. At home (as I type this), I am leaning forward more and letting the belly come forward between the legs as opposed to leaning back on the couch. I've also started occasionally moving back and forth or just shaking my hips out. It just feels good to move in "weird" ways because it keeps my muscles from getting stuck and complacent.

How's everyone doing?

Another way to get in some extra exercise is to get one of those exercise balls and sit on that when sitting to watch TV instead of lounging on the couch. When you are driving..get some kegels in.. before you go to the bathroom or after do a couple of air squats.

Honestly the days where I am just all out busy physically I dont make an effort to do additional exercise... I just try and recover from what I did do! That was me on Saturday... I had to do a lot of picking up outside and cleaning in the house...and to sit with a heating pad on my back for a couple of hours and take a nap too! It's exhausting and taxing carrying around the extra weight.

I did my lifting on Thursday and normal exercises on Friday.

I'm so stressed and tired. I'm a single mom of three, and it's honestly been all I can do lately to get us all through the day and keep the apartment mostly presentable. Surely that must count as SOME kind of exercise. :p Seriously, though, I am getting really stiff in the lower back, and have been making myself do yoga poses whenever I think of it. Also doing kegels when it occurs to me.

@Mozado8210 , I was feeling a lot of pain in my lower back recently. I haven't been really working out--after working all day and coming home to my 5 year-old I am wiped out. I finally got my butt to the YMCA for this prenatal aerobics class I signed up for. It really kicked my butt and I am super sore. I also have been starting to do this water aerobics class on Saturdays. I would recommend going swimming or doing water aerobics to loosen your back. It feels great with no impact.

I would absolutely love to go swimming. Hoping I can get a Y membership, it would be a blast and give my 4 year old and I something to do during the day, too.

One of my prenatal yoga teachers strongly advises we don't focus on kegels. She says it's fine enough for sex, but that's it. She recommends doing slow, methodical hip circles to work/tone *all* the pelvic muscles.

Need to get the yoga ball out to avoid the couch, especially when I'm on the computer, too. Honestly, however, I don't want to do a damn thing at the moment except sit here - and maybe grab some gelato form the fridge. It's been a long day. Maybe I'll make it to yoga tomorrow. :/

I worked out a total of 4 days last week and 2 so far this week!! :) Glad to be back moving again but not loving what my scale says. I still have 13+weeks to go until baby is here and if this rate keeps up I'm in big trouble!

Anyone else find that weight goes on more easily after your first child or two? Or is it just me?

I've gained 13 lbs so far. I have no idea how it's possible, considering that I'm super sedentary. I guess even when it's mostly from the couch, momming takes a lot of energy. :p

Forgot to mention this is baby #4.

I am normally pretty skinny so I don't worry about it. As long as you are eating well, and staying active you should be fine!

Although I have been pretty lame with the activity department. I can't wait for spring!! I am hoping that will inspire me to get moving a bit more.

Yeah I wasn't pretty skinny to begin with... 15lbs overweight (working from home killed my activity level and caused me to gain weight)... so it IS a concern but I am eating VERY healthy and exercising... so I'm trying to let it go so I can continue to nourish my baby without adding stress.

Hi Thanks for doing this!!! With a background in midwifery (though I haven't practiced for yrs) I feel that what ends up being most important to me in my pregnancy is exercise and and nutrition. Also,my caregiver ,who I may not have picked if I had more options(I bacame pregnant the same month I moved out of the country) Told me I'm gaining too much weight.Even with my knowledge that "every woman's body is different, don't pay attention to the scale as much as the way you're eating etc"It still triggered me and has made me somewhat concerned.& made me anxious when I feel I'm not getting enough exercise due to other priorities. My exercise during pregnancy has included walking,belly-dancing,swimming,prenatal yoga and some bike riding and playing around with my husband and daughter at bad mitton but I am also planning on joining a gym very near my house because once it gets dark I can't walk outside safely and it's not easy to make it to classes. My goal is to go to pn yoga ,belly dancing & the pool each once a week and fill in the rest of the days with walking or the gym and do 50 squats at home everyday. Much luck to the rest of you carving out time for yourselves to get enough movement in your day.I'm also interested in hearing how people feel about taking the time to take care of themselves it feels challenging to me to do that for myself sometimes.

I'm a lot healthier this pregnancy. My last 2 I wasn't as active and wasn't eating so well, and I gained 50lbs each one.

At 30 weeks I've gained 25lbs, so I'm pretty happy with that. More salads for me means for energy, means more activity, win win.

people have been saying things to me like "are you sure you're not having twins?" and "oh wow you're not due til June you look like you're due now" I find it so stupid and obnoxious and i just can't believe that people are so dense to not have any inkling of how unpleasant they are being. My husband and daughter are suprised that it bothers me & the thing is I know these people are ignorant and though I've gained 30 lbs at 29 wks the truth is that I really don't look full term or like I'm having twins. It's pretty silly when I longed to be pregnant and have a belly to be sensitive but anyway...I know you ladies understand

I have gotten the same comments as well. I've become really sensitive to the issue since I've actually worked hard to eat really healthy, only eat when hungry, and exercise yet I've still gone 8lbs over my goal weight by the end of pregnancy! Then my grandma called me a couple of days ago and has the audacity to ask me.. "You aren't gaining too much weight are you?"... I just responded with.. "My doctor said that all my measurements are good and the baby and I are healthy. The most important thing is that I nourish my baby.." But inside I was crying...
