I know someone who uses Dr Cohn. She has 3 kids all non vaxed and LOVES him - highly recommended him to me. I called before my DS was born, so last June or July, and they were not taking new patients. I even tried using my friends recommendation, but no luck.

I use Dr Schlachter in Essex Fells now. He is great. Very Ok with no/delayed vaxs esp if EBF. I was afraid it was going to be to far for me (i'm near woodbridge), but it only takes 35min.

If you get in with Dr Cohn, please post and let us know how he is.

Okay, well Dr. Cohn totally rocks. We have an adoptive placement through DYFS and he has flagged her for neuro issues that have kept him from vaxing her for fear of complications. Apparently he fought DYFS once to allow an adoptive mother to nurse a child who was Failure To Thrive (he lost, but he took it there--ya know?). It's illegal to nurse a ward of the state. Of course, the baby's initial Medicaid covered ped also flagged her for MORE neuro issues than Dr. Cohn--so really, DYFS can't argue that. Baby also qualified for Early Intervention for it already. I just think they'll fight about vaxing her and their idea of "potential for complication due to vaxing" ya know? Dr. Cohn wrote that he was delaying on her form. He knows that me and dh have ZERO say in the matter and that it's per the doctor's advise.

Awesome guy. We're moving all of us over to him (he's actually a family practitioner).

Dr. Cohn apparantly will take new patients w/ my MWs referral so we have an appt. next Thurs
I'll LYK how we like him.

P.S. For anyone interested... As of my phone call a well baby visit is about $70 since he doesn't take insurance. But they'll give a receipt and my insurance reimburses 60% so he's the same as our regular $25 co-pay
