We were handed down a convertible car seat from a friend of my dh's. I was looking for the date of manufacture and I think it was on a sticker that's been partially ripped off. I was hoping that it might be imprinted on the plastic as well but I've searched it and haven't seen it. Would it possibly be on the plastic under the car seat cover? If the answer is "no, probably not" then I won't waste my time taking the thing off, lol.

And then that leads me to my next question... how else can I find the expiry date of this thing?

a lot of the time the expiration date is sort of heat stamped into the plastic with a year like 2006 in the middle of a circle with the months in little sections and the month of manufacture distinguished in some way

did it come with the booklet? You can usually find instructions on finding the expiration date in the booklet. If you don't have the booklet, you should contact the company for a booklet. If the seat is expired and you contact the company, they (hopefully) would tell you it's expired.
