Extreme Fatigue

725 Views 9 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Kristin0105
Even though i have done this 3 times before... I always forget how super-tired I am in the beginning. I feel like I have been hit with a bag of bricks ad it's hard to find energy for my 8 month old, who i am still breastfeeding. The last two nights I went to bed between 7:30 and 8pm. What can I do for energy?? I'm already taking prenatal vitamins... I should probably resume my exercising, but it is so hard to muster up the energy to do so. Or should i just rest? Suggestions??? I am tired!

No advice unfortunately--just want you to know that I'm right there with ya. I am sitting at my desk today and I nodded off for I don't know how long...while sitting straight up in my chair. This is after getting to bed at 8:30pm and sleeping until 6:00 last night. I can't get enough sleep! I could sleep all day if I could.

Thankfully this too shall pass!
My goal is to exercise today and see if that helps. (That's my goal... don't know if it will happen.)
No suggestions - just sympathy! I keep almost falling asleep WHILE nursing my 21 month old in the middle of the day...
As someone who is also pg with #4 I'd say rest when you can.
My younger ones go to sleep at 6:30 and often that's when I'd fall asleep too.
Now that I'm closer to my 3rd tri. I finally have energy again, but only just now.
My first trimester was spent napping in the afternoon with all the kids piled in bed with me, and going to bed EARLY with the baby, around 7:30 or 8. I just didn't have energy for anything else! The second trimester was a lot better, but now I'm in the 3rd and I've got the 'tireds' again. I could easily go to bed by 9 and sleep all night!
OMG first tri exhaustion nearly killed me this time. DD is super active and 2.5, so it was just ultra hard. I would literally cry on the phone with Dh because I wanted him to come home. I was going to bed at 7 and sleeping until 6, plus trying to nap also. I still am napping and I am almost 17 weeks.

I just had to get through it. I couldn't exercise I just wanted to melt into the couch. It also didn't help it was Feb and completely gray and bleak. Ugh, so awful.
Hi, I read your post and sympathize. I was exhausted everyday last week and took 1-2 hour naps which I haven't done in ages.

I am just newly pregnant and hadn't really adjusted my diet to being preg, until I got so tired. I started eating 5 times a day and protein/nutrient rich food each time. I felt a ton better.

I have been vegetarian for 12 years or so and started incorporating raw dairy and healthy meat into my diet in the last 2 years.

My sweetie made me brown rice and venison, greens and avocado for lunch. Wow, what a difference all that iron, protein and good nourishment meant for my energy level.

I notice that it's a fine line for me between too much exercise and just the right amount. On days that I work a little too hard, I am tired for the rest of the day...and sometimes more tired the next day, too. It may take you a while to find the right balance for you, so I'd suggest slowly working up to more and more instead of starting out with a full 60-90 minute workout routine (like I foolishly did).

I exercise in the morning 1-1.5 hours a day depending on the day but then need a nap
. It's funny though if I am home I HAVE to nap from 3-4:30 but days I work, which is usually 3:30-7:00 I am fine until the last client walks out the door. Then I get tired again.

I feel lucky the real fatigue I had with dd has not hit yet but I'm only 7 weeks so I figure it should arrive any day now. I am trying to remember to eat more protien. I don't eat a lot of meat so I am struggling to eat more. I'm not even sure how much is enough.
