I have plans to make a giant teddy bear for dd, and am trying to find the perfect fabric. I worry about random chemicals in fake fur, and clean-ability/dust attraction. I was thinking maybe some sort of heavy woven fabric with an interesting texture. Bonus points if it's all natural/organic/etc

Any creative ideas?

I'd go to salvation army/goodwill, etc and get a bunch of mens XL/XXL lambswool sweaters and felt them. I actually found a couple of accidentally felted cashmere sweaters at our last clothes swap, and made a teddy bear out of them for a friend's newborn.

It was perfect.
