Hi there! I'm cautiously posting on the "I'm Pregnant" board, cause I've taken two tests, with 2 faint lines, two days in a row and am having trouble trusting it! I don't have any other definitive pg symptoms, and even have felt a bit crampy (but I know some of you say that's a common pg thing, too). However, my temp is still high and my luteal phases is longer than it has been in quite a while.

So, basically, I'm needing a little affirmation. I'm going to take a break from testing over the weekend if bleeding doesn't occur. It's just been such a long journey for us (long story, too) that I'm trying to remain calm, but it's hard! Thanks!

It's normal for it to be a faint line when you're not too far along in the pregnancy.

With my first two kids I tested right around the day my period was due and got faint lines with my last pregnancy I was almost two week late and got a very dark line.

My midwife once told me that there is no way you'd get even a faint line if the test was not sensing pregnancy hormone.

The only thing that might "confuse" the test is if you have had a recent miscarriage (therefore you still may have some pregnancy hormone in your system that the test could pickup on). I will hope this is not the case for you.

All the other signs you described point to being pregnant though, so my guess is that congratulations are in order!

Congrats!!

I took *5* tests at the beginning of this pregnancy - dh wasn't quite convinced by the faint lines. Um, yeah, I'm now 12 weeks along with the faint line!

Thanks everyone for your reassurance. I'll feel better when this odd crampiness I have lessens. And, I think I'll wait a few days and try again; hopefully the line will darken with the growth of hCG. It is still pretty early, even though I do have short cycles. But, I figured a line has to mean something, faint as it may be.

Again, thanks. I hope to join this board full-time in the very near future

Congrats!!! I took 2 tests from the 99 cent store that had faint lines. Then took a First Response and got a nice solid line the same day. Try a First Response if you want, or have your doctor do a blood test.

As far as the crampiness is concerned, I had that with my first. I thought it felt kind of like PMS, but with out the M!
I was about 5 weeks at that point so had missed my period for about a week.

I think the others are right. A line is a line. Congratulations!

Crampiness and a faint line are both great indications of pregnancy!!

With my first pregnancy, I also had a faint positive the day AF was due and then crampiness started later that day, and continued off and on for a week or two...

With my second pregnancy, crampiness started at 6dpo, and continued until about 18dpo. I had had only an 8 day lp, though, so when I was cramping for a few days (common pre-AF sign) but without bleeding I knew I was pregnant, even though I didn't test positive (super faint positive) until 10dpo...

So, I would love to add my congratulations and WELCOME to this board!!

Just one caveat: make sure you are within the time limits indicated in the directions. If you are, it's almost certainly positive. However, a line can develop if you let the test sit for a while past the time limit, even if the test is neg. Good luck and let us know!
