would other people be intristed in either starting up a naturaly minded playgroup or alternativly crashing an all ready on going one?

my thought being able to have a play group were you are not the 'weird one' for extended BF'ing, cloth diapering, no vax or circ etc etc ....

(not to say of course you have to do all of these )

A play group of AP/hippy mommas sounds great (though naturally we wouldnt discriminate). We could find places to go like the UAF Great Hall is awsome and huge and a good place to go crazy during non concert days. Or playing in the snow. I take DS to the new McD's and I knit while he plays. Its so new there that they never catch on and if you buy something harmless like a chicken breast or soda they cant complain. But the play ground is huge. Sounds like fun I will keep an eye on this thread. Besides Onyx and I have to meet someday.

The Great Hall used to be one of my FAVORITE places to play when I was little! I miss Fairbanks...

Ooh yeah I am such a flake I forget what I wore the day before. This week has been nuts with throwing together a wedding...Woohoo I am a married woman now bring on the tax benifits!!!. I landed a new job and we are in the final throws of buying the house we love.

My new job will give me Sun, Mon, Tue, and every other Wed off. So I have lots of time to take B to a play group. The Gymnastics place on Lathrop street has open mat times, glow put is a great place for kiddos and a good learning experience, they gave me an idea and I know its a bit price but renting out a banquet room and bringing toys and games and letting the kiddos run around like the adorable monsters they are. They can be as loud and crazy as is safe. We could probably talk them into a discount. I will soon have a house I could have a small play group in. I think we really need to get a fire lit and bug Parks and Rec to give us a space for the winter, and indoor play ground. They have something in Seward they could have something here.

Many moons ago a group of hsing mamas used to rent the lower rooms at Mary Siah for homeschool group time (playdates, show and tell, classes taught by a mom, etc). It was a lot of fun, very loud, many many big families...

It was a nice space and the cost was minimal.

I feel like my littler 3 are missing out on all the things I used to do w/ the older two...but dang, it's a lot of years of living at the pool, at soccer, at playdate after homsechool group after this after that...

We'd be interested in this if it's somewhere I can easily get to Mon-Thurs by bus/walking/cab/etc. or if it's anywhere Fri-Sat-Sun. Hubby is home Fri-Sat-Sun, and he has the license/truck.

Oh, our DS is 15 mos old.

Daytime during the week works for us, or weekend days. Anything after 4pm on weekdays doesn't work as we have swim lessons, swim team, and/or martial arts 5 days a week.
