Okay, the shallow girl in me wants a tan. Very badly. I just look horrible when I don't have one- really pasty.

I've gotten a little color from being in the sun, but my legs are still sheet-white. Is there a tanning lotion that's safer than sun exposure? I worry about the chemicals seeping into my skin and bloodstream and subsequently breastmilk.

Maybe mix some henna really thinly and let it sit for awhile?? Could be really good... could also be really bad.

Really? I looked at the site and it's very unprofessional, almost like a scam site. Did it work as quickly for you as it claims?

I know that the site looks unprofessional, but the products are good. I have never ordered directly from the company, but I have purchased the browning lotion and sunscreen from a natural foods store. I only posted the website for information. When I googled the company, I also saw that you could find it on ebay.

I read somewhere that tanning lotion is safe when nursing- it is made f some kind of sugar derivative? The True Blue Spa products from Bath and Body Works had a good one a couple years ago, otherwise lots of folks recommend Neutrogena.

I tried the Jergens kind, Body Glow or something its called- it gave me an awful painful rash- skip that one!

Yeah I found them on Amazon too, although they charge $8.75 shipping! Yikes. Hopefully I can find some at the local health shop. I read reviews and it seems like this is the miracle tanning lotion, so I think I'll try out a 4 oz bottle. Thanks for the suggestion!

Heatherweh- I tried Jergens once before too, and though it didn't give me a rash, it didn't give me a tan either!

FWIW, I googled the ingredients and it appears to be coffee, potassium iodide, and oil based, so you could probably fake it yourself. They claim it isn't a stain, but basically it is. When I was a kid people mixed iodine in baby oil to fake a tan.

According to this link, by mildly heating potassium iodide you get iodine, so I figure when you put this stuff on and go out in the sun, it gets warm, and then it turns to iodine and you magically have a tan.

http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=218887

Some chemistry major is making a bundle.
