So, my peas are gone, the beans are looking sparse, tomatoes and pickling cukes are going crazy!
:

I wanted to start planting a fall garden now, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. but have no idea if these are from seed or seedlings?

What else can I plant, we live in Maine so it gets cold early! I am planning on bringing in all my herbs to winter indoors, but would love to be able to have fresh veggies into the cooler months.

Any ideas would be great!! Thanks!

Spinach and other smallish greens (leaf lettuces, turnips) you can sow from seed. Since you are in Maine, for cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and even larger greens like Collards, I would try to find starts. Not likely to find them at the mega stores, but maybe some local greenhouses have some.

Good Luck!!

I planted peas, I just made sure I picked a variety that had the shortest maturing days. I also planted spinach, leaf lettuce, icicle radishes, swish and swish chard. Next week I will plant another two squares of peas and lettuce.
