Owen has been a champion walker for some time now. Over the past 3 or 4 days, he seems to fall/trip more often. Barefoot, same shoes he always wears, footy pj's... he seems to trip over nothing, and usually ends up crying. I can't figure why the same generally flat surfaces he could walk on before could be such a giant tripping hazard. At first I thought "Oh, he didnt' sleep well so he is a bit off because he is tired" but it has been a few days now. Any thoughts? When I do a search all I can find are concuscions and neurological disorders. Yikes!

Addie also went through this and it turned out to be the very beginning of an ear infection (there was a little bit of fluid build-up. This was her first (and only, knock on wood) ear infection and she had no other symptons. I just happened to notice it because she had walking/running around like a nut mastered, so falls had been quite rare.

Hmmm, thanks everyone. I'll keep an eye on his growth... he sure feels like he weighs 10 lbs more than last week! : I called the dr and can't get in until next monday. terrific. I just wanted her to look in his ears. He has been sleeping better the past couple of nights, but definately still working on the teeth.

Dd has been falling somewhat more often - she is running faster than ever and growing a lot. I think her feet aren't where she expects them to be sometimes. In the past, walking was interesting. Now it's a means to get to the interesting thing and she probably is not as attentive as she was at the beginning; she hardly fell at the start.

And yes, she would get very upset at the indignity of it all, and the delay caused by the fall. Now she usually laughs, says "plop," gets up, and starts running again.

I guess you would want to look at how much more the falling is and whether there are any other problems.
