Man, I didn't think it would be sooo difficult to find information on family cloth.

I want to start using family cloth for myself (boys use cloth wipes & DH doesn't care for family cloth). I just can not figure out what size the family cloth should be. I was thinking little squares like toilet paper, but a little big bigger. I don't think I want it the size of the cloth wipes I have though.

Also, do the fabrics really make a difference? Are sherpa and velour good choices because they're super soft, but does that mean flannel is any less good?

Anyone have a good place to buy them at, or should I break out the sewing machine and make my own?

I made ours out of old recieving blankets and some old flannel pants. Both work well. They are so easy to make that if you have a machine I would suggest making them yourself.

As for size, just make what seems right for you.I made ours the size of disposable wipes(when they are folded up)because I thought I was going to store them in an old wipes box. That size works well for us though.

Also,I made ours two layers.
