OK, I have about 80 pounds to lose since the birth of my dd (19 mos). I have this irrational fear though, of all the toxins that are supposedly stored in the fat. If I burn up this fat, will these toxins come out in greater quantity in the breastmilk? I don't want to wean my daughter, and I try to eat organically, but does somebody know what is fact and what is myth in this situation?

It's true, but if you go slowly, it shouldn't be an issue. Also, sometimes your body will drop weight quickly when you start eating to your needs. If you aren't doing some extreme fat busting diet and you start losing weight quickly, I don't think that weight is all fat. You may be carrying a lot of extra water weight too.
I think that if you do it gently and don't do anything drastic, however your weight comes off is a just right for you and your nursling.
I like the Weight Watchers for Nursing Mothers program.
