I need new covers. I been spoiled by my ME airflo covers, but dunno if dh would ok my buying a new set of them for the 2 youngest. So, what can I get that's a fave of y'alls that is fairly inexpensive? I love side snap covers, dh prefers velcro (which I can deal with pretty well, I just feel the snaps are a trimmer fit) Would prefer to buy new, as dh and I are planning to ttc #5 in a few months (ok, more like 6 or 7 months lol) and I need to hand down to younger sibs. And I do pinned prefolds mostly, with the occassional fitted or contour (but I don't like those so much, I keep the fitteds and aios for dh to use on the rare occassion he'll change a cd)

I love thirsties. I do mostly pinned prefolds. I find they fit a very big range (I can still get 10 month old ds into a small if I trifold, but he also fits a medium totally stuffed & pinned). They have worn well for me and never a leak

I want to second Thirsties here too. I just started CD'ing my 20 month old again after a year hiatus and I can still get him into the small covers if I squish him in.
Granted, he fits much better in a medium, but I loaned out all of my mediums and haven't asked for them back yet. Thirsties are so squishable, you can fit them in a tiny pocket in your diaper bag, and the leg gussets make them pretty much bomb proof.

If you look around online, you can get a good deal if you buy a few at a time. That is how I got mine a year ago.

Thirsties huh? OK I'll see what dh says about 4 of them, he may not go for the cost. I just don't want to end up with Gerber pull-on pants like I had when we started cd'ing when dd2 was 3 weeks old (allergic to all disposables period until she potty trained) and I know that those would be dh's first suggestion because of cost (good thing I got 4 doz prefolds when I was pregnant with dd4 or I'd have to battle on new cds too, he's not a fan of them at all but does admit they are good for the budget) As it is I'm looking at a few new pockets or aios (preferably os ones) for daddy changes and the diaper bag, so I'm looking at $100 or so just there without covers, then add in bedwetter pants for dd1 and dd2 and new covers, oy this is not gonna be fun to convince him on. I better start searching eBay........................... (I can hold off on dd1 and dd2 pants for now, I NEED the covers and pockets though)

I've been happy with my Thirsties and my Bummies super brites. I love the leg gussets. I'm not all that impressed with my other bummies, as they seem too tight or too loose, and without the gusset, I just can't get a good fit.

DH okayed the Thirsties if I look for the best shipping rates possible. He vetoed the bedwetter pants immediately, but said "we'll see" to the pockets (especially since I told him that if I got a 12 pack of the OS ones they could also work overnight for the big 2 and that he could easily use them on the rare occassion he'd have to do a change)

Hmmmmm is Drybees still around? I have a fleece pocket that they made, and I used it as our overnight dipe for dd1 for a LONG time (at least, until she outgrew it) and never had leak issues, she is my power-pee kid that could bee through a premium ipf with an infant ipf doubler in no time.....................

Now THAT is a shipping rate I can work with............ lol I'll have to show that site to dh when he gets home. Now, do Thirsties run pretty true to size, big, or small? If the run true then both my littles would fit into a medium by measurements (most of dd4's 30lbs is in her thighs lol she has a pretty slim waist with big thighs and a good overhang belly, she wears a huggies size 4 and the belly hangs sooooo bad on her) And at that price, if I find that one needs a large I could likely talk dh into getting a couple of that size later. Having small kids with a short rise is pretty handy (my prefolds are infant ones and I can easily pin them on the girls, although I have premiums for overnights)

If you can sew I recommend the covers from Diaperkit.com. They are a fraction of the cost and since everything is cut out for you already they only take minutes to put together.

You know, i had so many different kinds of covers over the time that dd was in diapers, but the one i always went back to were those nylon pullup kinds, i swear. Either the Dappi brand or the BabysRUs brand, whatever... they were always excellent and breathable for us, and the price can't be beat.

Another fan of Thirsties here! But I just ordered a Bummis Super Whisper Wrap, a Bummis Super Brite, and a Wonder Wraps One Size cover from Nicki's just to try something new.

We've been depending on our Prowrap (which I hate) an ABC wrap (which is no longer waterproof) and our Thirsties cover for the last year and finally decided it was time for replacements for the Prowrap and the ABC. The Thirsties is still kicking and we love it!
