I got my son this one for Xmas and it's a big hit with him and all his buddies regardless of age. It was also the best deal I could find, comes furnished with a family. Shipping is super cheap on this website (they have lots of other models too if you want to shop around for your DC). I only wished they had given an option of ethnicity for the family... but you can buy them seperately through Amazon or at Target (my DS wanted the African American family to live in his house too) and still pay way less than most dollhouses.

Happy shopping!

http://www.dollhousesgalore.com/read...llhousekit.cfm

I'm getting this one for our daughter for her 3rd birthday. I like that it is made of non-chemically treated rubberwood, which is environmentally friendly, and is not MIC.

Features-wise, I like the size and the fact that the walls, windows, and door can be moved to change the layout.

We have this one from Melissa and Doug. I see that my toddler is 1 month younger than yours and I'll say that mine loves this dollhouse. My only issue is that so many of the accessories are tiny and hard for toddler fingers to operate.

We love Ryan's Room wooden dolls and doll houses. My girls have one and play with it all the time, it's well made and functional. They even painted it themselves!

We have the playmobil 123 one. It's small and easy to put away when not in use, and DS seems happy with it. However, it is pretty narrow and has a tendancy to topple if he is playing on the rug.

I saw AA dolls like the ones in the pic at my local Pottery Barn Kids. The prices were good, and they included an adorable tiny baby and a doctor, in addition to the usual family members. My only problem with them were that the toys were made in China, didn't seem to be of the very best craftsmanship, and the skin color was a teeny bit odd for my taste. (However, yarn isn't like real hair either, is it? LOL.) All the same, we may purchase them if we don't find anything else. I'm not sure how "perfect" I need these dolls to be. We are talking about imaginary play, right?

"Nina" (my mom) got Lu this one for Christmas. (It was her choice, not mine... it is a bit pricey.) Anyway, Lu really likes it. Biggest pros: it doesn't take up a lot of space in our relatively small house, and it comes with some accessories/dolls. Biggest con: doesn't really come with that many accessories, and I'm planning on buying some more kitchen stuff and some kids and/or babies for the couple who lives there!
