Who and why?<br><br>
I'm currently using front page but I'm opening a new site with my new dream weaver I'm trying to master. I need a good ftp program! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

I've always used dreamweaver's ftp with no problems. The only time I've used anything else was with a big university's server, which was picky and had security issues. Then I used CoreFTP.

FileZilla, I like it a lot more then Dreamweaver's <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> SmartFTP was ok for my old host but won't work with my new (good) host, so they suggested FileZilla and it's great.

Ugh - please help the ignorant...I thought that even though I will be utilizing dream weaver, I'd still need to download an FTP client. Is that not true? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment">

Oh no, Dreamweaver has a built in one. When you create a new site (or edit an existing one), you can enter the FTP info. The help files will walk you through how to.

Well, if that doesn't work out for you, I am very happy with my Yummy FTP. It might be strictly Mac, though.

I've been using CUTE FTP for around 8 years now and love it! It's very low-cost and easy to work with.<br><br><a href="http://www.cuteftp.com/" target="_blank">http://www.cuteftp.com/</a>
